 The Acoustic Showdown is the first guitar playing competition to ever take place in Ulaanbaatar. Every week, 4 to 6 guitars battle for a place in the finals on the 31st of May 2008. The finalist will walk away with 500,000 Togrigs as prize money. So far 6 guitars have made it to the finals. All 6 are extremelly talented young mongolians who will delighted the audience with their guitar playing skills and charisma.
The rules are simple : One voice, One Guitar, One Winner. The guitars have to play / sing 3 songs in front of a panel of distinguished judges , only 2 guitars get to move on to the finals per session. May the best player win.
The sessions take place every saturday evening from 10pm until the 31st of May.

The Oasis Night Club & Lounge |
 The Oasis Club is one of the landmarks of the Mongolian bar scene. Mr Tyler (aka ******)
 Tyler joined the Oasis team in December 2007. He came to Mongolia a few years ago from Canada look for friends to play ice hockey with but having found no friends he now manages the bar, and gets blamed for everything that goes wrong. Beyond managing the bar, Tyler is also responsible for the smooth running of the many events and parties that Oasis hosts throughout the year. We thought better not to put a picture of Tyler as he is not the most attractive of chaps so we replaced his picture by that of a pretty girl. Mr Turbold Turoo (aka Sparky)
 Sparky is Tyler's loyal assistant manager, diverse in his skills and talents. He works on all sides of the bar, is often seen behind the DJ booth and can often be spotted by his trendy waistcoat. Sparky is currently finishing his studies in foreign affairs and soon hopes to be promoted to Ambassador in an exotic country. Sparky is always bubbling with enthusiasm so he gets given the worst jobs in an effort to calm him down a little.
There are always vacancies for Bar Staff at the Oasis Nightclub. Expertise in this field isn't necessary as basic training will be given, but a large knowledge of mixing cocktails and serving drinks would be very useful. If you fancy being part of the Oasis team please contact us at
